Tyner Junior Play Includes
Mystery, Comedy, Romance

The Junior class of Tyner High School is presenting on Thursday and Friday, March 15th and 16th, a four act mystery play in the new Tyner school gymnasium. It is entitled "The Ghost Bird" by Neil E. Schaffner. There's a mystery in the cemetery at midnight when two villagegirls see a frightening half-man, half-bird creature who, with wings outspread and staring, blazing eyes, warns, "Beware the Vulture". There is comedy when Toby Tolliver, a likeable lad with hair-brained schemes "studies for his new found life's work" while seated on a gravestone at midnight. When he "buttles", it's done up in a fashion attributable only to Toby Tolliver. There's even a romantic triangle. The romance of Catherine Belmont and young Carl Thomas is jeopardized by the blackmail threat of detective chief Brad buckhart whose integrity is somewhat questionable. Through a framed-up confession of Miss Belmont's brother Will, to a crime, he trys to force her to marry him. Buckhart's plans come to naught when poetic justice takes a hand and gets stabbed. Then comes "super-cop" Jenkins, he's hard-bitten and tough as nails and after some confusion, "straightens things out".
