Mrs. John Davis, of Hibbard, who is substituting at Tyner, entertained the students
of Tyner Thursday morning, April 5th. She sang "Little Jesus Boy" and "Italian Street Song."
The students enjoyed her songs very much. She will also sing between acts at the Junior Play.

Twenty members will attend the Spring District Conference at South Bend, Central
High School.
S. S. S. CONVENTION
The Tyner Sunshine girls held a meeting Wednesday, April 4th, to make final plans
to go to the State S. S. S. Convention at New Haven, Saturday, april 7th.
Thirty girls from our organization will attend this convention. Miss Lois Lehman will accompany the girls.

Mrs. Reid wishes to express her appreciation and thanks to the students and

BASEBALL PRACTICE RESUMED
BASKETBALL BANQUET PLANNED

Baseball practice started Apr. 3rd after school and continued through the week.
As practice resumed, Tyner fell short on its pitching and catching staff. Louis Sarber and Bill Kreps will
probably pitch for the team. Both Dennis Hornsby and Roland Lichtenbarger can take care of the catching
problem. Jim Waller is the only senior graduating from the team. No games are scheduled as yet.
BASKETBALL BANQUET PLANNED
The Basketball Banquet honoring the boys who participated in athletics this year
will be Saturday, May 5th, at 7 o'clock in the Tyner Gym. The P. T. A. is sponsoring the banquet this year.
Mrs. Cedric Shank, Mrs. Stanley Karn, and the mothers of the boys were appointed to make arrangements for
the banquet.
Everyone is to bring a well filled basket and table service. The rolls, butter, and coffee will be furnished. A special program is being planned. Everybody is cordially invited to attend.

Thirty-eight members of the band went to Hammond March 31st, to participate in
the contest for different schools around. The Band was in class C, classification for schools with the high
school enrollment of 100 to 250, with Bremen, Lapaz, Walkerton, Morton, and Madison Township. We came out
with a third placing. The band played Valley Forge March, Citadel Overture, and Evangeline Overture.
The Choralettes sang at Lakeville for the Women's American Legion Auxiliary, March 30th. They will go to the salem Center School the 13th of this month.
The Special chorus and special band are practicing their parts for the Minstrel show that is to be given April 16th, for the P. T. A. meeting. Everyone is cordially invited.
