FIRST AND SECOND GRADE NEWS

One Monday afternoon the room mothers treated our room to an egg hunt at the Wayne Smith home.
The children had a delightful time searching for the gayly colored eggs. Lynette Hutchings
was happy to find the silver egg. This party was also to celebrate Sherrie's birthday, April
18. For the occasion, Mrs. Dean Maxson baked a delious chocolste cake which was beautifully
decorated. Mrs. Smith served the cake and ice cream to the guests.
Friday, May 3 was Roy Dean Lowry's last day with us. He and his mother left on Saturday for New Jersey, where Roy Dean's farher is stationed with the army. We hope that he will enjoy his new home.
We are looking forward to the trip to South Bend Friday sponsored by the Teegarden Parent Teachers Association. We are very happy that our room mothers will accompany us.

Two pupis are celebrating their birthdays during May. They are Charlene Lemert and John
Hathaway. We also wish a happy birthday to each pupil whose birthday arrives during the summer.
The P.T.A. sponsored trip to South Bend will be taken this Friday, May 10. The room mothers have made all the arrangements as to where we will go and how we will travel. They have a very interesting trip planned.

Billy curtis and Edward Mitchel celebrated their birthdays in April. It was
really fun to be able to play our games outdoors for a change.
All the children are looking forward to the school trip to South Bend this Friday, sponsored by the P.T.A. and room mothers. We hope to visit the police and fire stations, airport, post office and the Mishawaka Children Museum.

We have a few peas, corn, and radish plants growing in the room. Also one of our moths emerged from its cocoon.
Everyone enjoyed our last P.T.A. program, during which Mr. Louiseau entertained the Parents with our Teegarden talent. Taking part in the program were Charlene Lemert, Myra Ross, Karen Wringer, Barbara Metcalf, Tommy Gardener, and Donny Ruhl.
